Getting fire rated glazed screens fitted in Hertfordshire
Our Hertfordshire service covers fire rated glazed screens for flats, HMOs, workplaces, schools and homes, including Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage.
Which rules apply in Hertfordshire?
In Hertfordshire, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Hertfordshire?
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in Hertfordshire, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Guide prices assume straightforward access; out-of-hours working or difficult access is priced as a separate, visible line.

Common questions in Hertfordshire
Can you fit just one door?
Yes — from a single door to a full building.
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Steel or timber screens?
Both are available. Timber matches timber doorsets; steel suits slim sightlines and higher ratings.
