Fire doors across Hertfordshire
Our Hertfordshire service covers fire doors for flats, HMOs, workplaces, schools and homes, including Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage.
Hertfordshire's new towns — Stevenage, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City — sit alongside commuter towns with office-to-residential conversions.
Fire door rules in Hertfordshire
In Hertfordshire, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Questions about fire doors in Hertfordshire
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can you fit just one door?
Yes — from a single door to a full building.
Is the survey free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
How quickly can you survey in Hertfordshire?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Hertfordshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
