What the law says in Essex
Fire doors in Essex sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in Essex
Expect roughly £1,400–£4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens, fitted, ex VAT. Your Essex quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
Guide prices assume straightforward access; out-of-hours working or difficult access is priced as a separate, visible line.

Common questions in Essex
Can you fit just one door?
Yes — from a single door to a full building.
Do you cover the whole of Essex?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens across Essex, including Southend-on-Sea, Basildon and Colchester.
How quickly can you survey in Essex?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Essex. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Steel or timber screens?
Both are available. Timber matches timber doorsets; steel suits slim sightlines and higher ratings.
