Why installation decides performance
Most fire door failures found in surveys are installation faults: gaps too big, frames not sealed to the wall, hinges with missing screws, closers that don't latch. BS 8214:2026, the code of practice published in March 2026, strengthens guidance on installation and frame-to-structure sealing for timber, steel and composite doors.
Certificated installation where the doorset needs it
Some doorset certificates require installation by an installer certificated under a third-party scheme such as BM TRADA Q-Mark or FIRAS for the certification to carry through to the finished job. Where your doorset requires it, we confirm the installer's scheme and certificate number in writing before booking.
What you get at handover

- An installation record with photos
- Maintenance and inspection guidance for your fire safety records
For relevant buildings in England, regulation 38 of the Building Regulations requires fire safety information to be handed to the responsible person — our pack is designed to slot into it.

Fire door installation questions
Is the survey really free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed quote.
Do you supply fire doors without fitting?
We focus on supply and fit, because certification usually depends on correct installation. Talk to us if you have a contractor-led project.
Are your installers certificated?
Where a doorset's certification requires a third-party certificated installer, we confirm the installer's scheme and certificate number in writing before work is booked.
Which areas do you cover?
England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Survey and fitting dates depend on location and project size.
