Fire rated glazed screens in Hoddesdon: how we work
Getting fire rated glazed screens right in Hoddesdon means choosing a certified doorset for each opening and fitting it exactly as tested. That's the whole service: survey, schedule, certified doorset, careful installation and the paperwork to prove it.
Hoddesdon is about 18 miles from Watford; we cover both, along with Hertford, Cheshunt and Waltham Abbey.
Which rules apply in Hoddesdon?
In Hoddesdon, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Hoddesdon?
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in Hoddesdon, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Each quote covers the certified doorset, standard ironmongery, fitting, removal of the old door and a handover record; anything outside that scope is shown as a separate line before you accept.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Hoddesdon
Can you work around tenants or staff in Hoddesdon?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Is the survey in Hoddesdon free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Hoddesdon?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
