What the law says in Braintree
Fire doors in Braintree sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Braintree
Can you fit just one door in Braintree?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Essex.
How quickly can you survey in Braintree?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Braintree visits with other work in Essex. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Do you cover Braintree?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Braintree and the rest of Essex, including CM7 and nearby Witham.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
