Which rules apply in Brentwood?
Because Brentwood is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.

Fire rated glazed screens in Brentwood: questions
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Brentwood need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset in Brentwood.
How quickly can you survey in Brentwood?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Brentwood visits with other work in Essex. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
