Stairwell fire doors in Tyne and Wear: how we work
Throughout Tyne and Wear, including Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and South Shields, we survey, quote and fit doors onto protected stairs and escape routes as complete certified doorsets, with the manufacturer's certificate reference on every quote.
Fire door rules in Tyne and Wear
Fire doors in Tyne and Wear sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Stairwell fire doors prices in Tyne and Wear
Guide prices for stairwell fire doors in Tyne and Wear run from about £850 to £1,400 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
