Regulations for acoustic fire doors in Tyne and Wear
Because Tyne and Wear is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Cost of acoustic fire doors in Tyne and Wear
Guide prices for acoustic fire doors in Tyne and Wear run from about £1,100 to £2,000 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.

Your questions answered
Do you cover the whole of Tyne and Wear?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit acoustic fire doors across Tyne and Wear, including Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and South Shields.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
How quickly can you survey in Tyne and Wear?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Tyne and Wear. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Do acoustic seals affect the fire rating?
They can if untested. We only use seals covered by the doorset's fire evidence.
