Stairwell & Escape Route Doors for North Shields buildings
We fit doors onto protected stairs and escape routes in North Shields and the rest of Tyne and Wear. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
Our Tyne and Wear coverage includes North Shields and its neighbours Tynemouth, South Shields and Whitley Bay; tell us your postcode and preferred dates and we'll confirm a survey slot.
Fire door rules in North Shields
In North Shields, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Stairwell fire doors prices in North Shields
Our guide price for stairwell fire doors in North Shields is £850 to £1,400 per single doorset including fitting, ex VAT. Non-standard sizes, veneers, vision panels and access control push towards the top of the range.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.
