Fire doors across West Midlands
Across West Midlands we handle fire doors for single doors and whole-building programmes alike — survey, fixed quote, certified doorsets and careful installation.
Birmingham has one of the UK's largest collections of residential tower blocks and city-centre apartments, with the Black Country towns adding industry, schools and HMOs.
Fire door rules in West Midlands
In West Midlands, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Questions about fire doors in West Midlands
How quickly can you survey in West Midlands?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in West Midlands. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Which rules apply in West Midlands?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
