Fire door rules in Devon
Because Devon is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Cost of FD30S fire doors in Devon
Guide prices for FD30S fire doors in Devon run from about £800 to £1,250 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Your questions answered
Is the survey free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
How quickly can you survey in Devon?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Devon. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Which rules apply in Devon?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
What is the difference between FD30 and FD30S?
Both resist fire for 30 minutes. FD30S also has tested smoke seals that limit cold smoke passing around the leaf before the intumescent strip activates.
