Composite fire doors in Devon: how we work
Our Devon service covers composite fire doors for flats, HMOs, workplaces, schools and homes, including Plymouth, Exeter and Paignton.
What the law says in Devon
Because Devon is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
What do composite fire doors cost in Devon?
Budget around £1,200 to £2,200 per door for composite fire doors supplied and fitted in Devon, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Devon's demand comes from Plymouth's post-war city centre and naval estate, Exeter's offices and student housing, and coastal hotels.

Questions about composite fire doors in Devon
Do you cover the whole of Devon?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit composite fire doors across Devon, including Plymouth, Exeter and Paignton.
Is the survey free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can composite fire doors be used externally?
Many are tested for external use, which matters for doors opening onto external walkways or stairs.
