Getting fire rated glazed screens fitted in Powys
Throughout Powys, including Newtown and Brecon, we survey, quote and fit fire-rated glazed screens and fanlights as complete certified doorsets, with the manufacturer's certificate reference on every quote.
Fire door rules in Powys
Wales issues its own version of Approved Document B, so new and replacement fire doors in Powys are specified against the Welsh guidance. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies in Wales, covering workplaces and the common parts of multi-occupied residential buildings, including flat entrance doors.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Powys?
Guide prices for fire rated glazed screens in Powys run from about £1,400 to £4,500 per screen, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
Each quote covers the certified doorset, standard ironmongery, fitting, removal of the old door and a handover record; anything outside that scope is shown as a separate line before you accept.

Your questions answered
Do you remove the old doors?

Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
How quickly can you survey in Powys?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Powys. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
