Certified fire rated glazed screens for North Yorkshire
We supply and fit fire rated glazed screens across North Yorkshire, including York, Middlesbrough and Harrogate. Every job starts with a free measure survey and ends with a handover pack listing each certified doorset fitted.
Regulations for fire rated glazed screens in North Yorkshire
In North Yorkshire, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in North Yorkshire
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in North Yorkshire, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
Where fire rated glazed screens are needed

Common questions in North Yorkshire
Which rules apply in North Yorkshire?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Is the survey free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Steel or timber screens?
Both are available. Timber matches timber doorsets; steel suits slim sightlines and higher ratings.
