Fire doors across North Yorkshire
Across North Yorkshire we handle fire doors for single doors and whole-building programmes alike — survey, fixed quote, certified doorsets and careful installation.
North Yorkshire runs from York's historic centre and student housing to Teesside's industry and Harrogate and Scarborough's hotels.
Fire door rules in North Yorkshire
In North Yorkshire, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Questions about fire doors in North Yorkshire
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Which rules apply in North Yorkshire?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
