Certified doorsets for Hitchin
In Hitchin we fit fire doors for freeholders, managing agents, landlords, businesses and homeowners. Each job starts with a free survey in SG6 and ends with a handover pack for your records.
Whether your building is in central Hitchin or on its edges towards Letchworth Garden City, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
Regulations for FD30 fire doors in Hertfordshire
Because Hitchin is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Hertfordshire's new towns — Stevenage, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City — sit alongside commuter towns with office-to-residential conversions.

Questions about fire doors in Hitchin
Do you cover Hitchin?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire doors throughout Hitchin and the rest of Hertfordshire, including SG6 and nearby Letchworth Garden City.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Hitchin?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
What does a Hitchin quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Can you fit just one door in Hitchin?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Hertfordshire.
