Stairwell fire doors in Worcestershire: how we work
Across Worcestershire we handle stairwell fire doors for single doors and whole-building programmes alike — survey, fixed quote, certified doorsets and careful installation.
What the law says in Worcestershire
In Worcestershire, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Cost of stairwell fire doors in Worcestershire
Budget around £850 to £1,400 per single doorset for stairwell fire doors supplied and fitted in Worcestershire, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
We show each door's price separately, so if budget is tight you can phase the work and start with the doors your fire risk assessment prioritises.

Your questions answered
Can you fit just one door?
Yes — from a single door to a full building.
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do you remove the old doors?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset.
Can stair doors have locks?
Only escape hardware that allows instant exit without a key in the direction of escape.
