Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
What do FD30S fire doors cost in Braintree?
Expect roughly £800–£1,250 per single doorset for FD30S fire doors, fitted, ex VAT. Your Braintree quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Questions about FD30S fire doors in Braintree
What does a Braintree quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Braintree?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Braintree?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
What is the difference between FD30 and FD30S?
Both resist fire for 30 minutes. FD30S also has tested smoke seals that limit cold smoke passing around the leaf before the intumescent strip activates.
