Fire door rules in Carlisle
Because Carlisle is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Guide prices in Carlisle
Guide prices for fire rated glazed screens in Carlisle run from about £1,400 to £4,500 per screen, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Fire rated glazed screens in Carlisle: questions
Do you cover Carlisle?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Carlisle and the rest of Cumbria, including CA3 and nearby Dumfries.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Carlisle?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Carlisle need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
