Regulations for FD30 fire doors in Lancashire
Fire doors in Preston sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Lancashire combines former mill towns, Preston's city centre, Blackpool's hotels and guest houses, and Lancaster's student housing.

Questions about fire doors in Preston
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Preston?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Can you fit just one door in Preston?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Lancashire.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Preston?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Is the survey in Preston free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
