Security Fire Doors for Hitchin buildings
For landlords, managing agents, businesses and homeowners in Hitchin, we provide fire and security rated doorsets with one fixed quote. A free survey comes first, then a door-by-door schedule, then installation to the manufacturer's instructions and a handover pack for your records.
Where possible we combine Hitchin surveys with other visits in Hertfordshire, such as Letchworth Garden City and Stevenage, which helps keep survey dates flexible.
What the law says in Hitchin
Because Hitchin is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Guide prices in Hitchin
Guide prices for security fire doors in Hitchin run from about £1,600 to £3,500 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
