Security fire doors in South Glamorgan: how we work
Throughout South Glamorgan, including Cardiff, Barry and Penarth, we survey, quote and fit fire and security rated doorsets as complete certified doorsets, with the manufacturer's certificate reference on every quote.
Regulations for security fire doors in South Glamorgan
In South Glamorgan the specification follows Approved Document B as published for Wales, while day-to-day duties to keep fire doors working come from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The England-only door-check regulations of 2022 don't apply in Wales, but regular checks remain good practice and are expected by fire risk assessors.
Guide prices in South Glamorgan
Expect roughly £1,600–£3,500 per single doorset for security fire doors, fitted, ex VAT. Your South Glamorgan quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Your questions answered
Can you fit just one door?
Yes — from a single door to a full building.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Which rules apply in South Glamorgan?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (Wales) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Can any fire door be made secure?
Adding security hardware to a fire door without evidence can void its fire rating. Choose a doorset certified for both.
