Your questions answered
Do you cover Caterham?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit riser cupboard fire doors throughout Caterham and the rest of Surrey, including CR3 and nearby Coulsdon.
Which rules do riser cupboard fire doors in Caterham need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
What does a Caterham quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
What rating does a riser door need?
In England, Approved Document B generally asks for at least half the fire resistance of the shaft wall, with a 30-minute minimum — so FD30 is typical, rising to FD60 for 120-minute shafts. Your fire strategy confirms it.
