Fire rated glazed screens in Galashiels: how we work
We fit fire-rated glazed screens and fanlights in Galashiels and the rest of Scottish Borders. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
Whether your building is in central Galashiels or on its edges towards Hawick, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
Which rules apply in Galashiels?
In Galashiels the building standards come from the Scottish Technical Handbooks rather than Approved Document B, and existing non-domestic premises fall under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. We specify doorsets against the Scottish requirements and your fire risk assessment.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in Scottish Borders
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in Galashiels, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
