Our Musselburgh supply and fit service
Looking for fire rated glazed screens in Musselburgh? Our supply and fit service covers EH21 and the surrounding area, including Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy. We quote complete doorsets — leaf, frame, seals, hinges and closer — because that is what the fire certification actually covers.
Musselburgh is about 6 miles from Edinburgh. Wherever your building is in EH21, we arrange survey and fitting dates around access and occupancy.
Fire door rules in Musselburgh
In Musselburgh the building standards come from the Scottish Technical Handbooks rather than Approved Document B, and existing non-domestic premises fall under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. We specify doorsets against the Scottish requirements and your fire risk assessment.

Fire rated glazed screens in Musselburgh: questions
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Musselburgh?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Musselburgh?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Musselburgh need to meet?
They are specified to the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Can screens be added to an existing fire door?
Only as part of a tested or assessed assembly. Usually the door and screen are replaced together.
