Fire door rules in Northampton
Because Northampton is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in Northamptonshire
Our guide for fire rated glazed screens is £1,400–£4,500 per screen fitted, ex VAT. Quotes for Northampton are fixed once we've measured, and include removing and disposing of old doors where they're being replaced.
We show each door's price separately, so if budget is tight you can phase the work and start with the doors your fire risk assessment prioritises.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Northampton
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Northampton?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Northampton?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can you fit just one door in Northampton?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Northamptonshire.
Can screens be very large?
Size limits depend on the screen system's evidence. Larger screens may need intermediate mullions or transoms.
