Fire rated glazed screens in Gwynedd: how we work
Our Gwynedd service covers fire rated glazed screens for flats, HMOs, workplaces, schools and homes, including Bangor and Holyhead.
Which rules apply in Gwynedd?
In Gwynedd the specification follows Approved Document B as published for Wales, while day-to-day duties to keep fire doors working come from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The England-only door-check regulations of 2022 don't apply in Wales, but regular checks remain good practice and are expected by fire risk assessors.
Fire rated glazed screens prices in Gwynedd
Budget around £1,400 to £4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens supplied and fitted in Gwynedd, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.
Where fire rated glazed screens are needed
Gwynedd and Anglesey are largely rural, with Bangor's university and hospital, hotels and holiday accommodation driving fire door work.

Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Which rules apply in Gwynedd?
Doors are specified to Approved Document B (Wales) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
How quickly can you survey in Gwynedd?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine visits with other work in Gwynedd. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
