Getting fire rated glazed screens fitted in Aston
Need fire rated glazed screens in Aston? We supply and fit complete certified doorsets across West Midlands, starting with a free measure survey in and around B6. Every quote lists each door, its rating and the manufacturer's certificate reference, so you know exactly what is going in before anything is ordered.
We cover B6 and the surrounding area, including Birmingham. Tell us your postcode and preferred dates and we'll confirm a survey slot.
Which rules apply in Aston?
Because Aston is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Aston?
Expect roughly £1,400–£4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens, fitted, ex VAT. Your Aston quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
Each quote covers the certified doorset, standard ironmongery, fitting, removal of the old door and a handover record; anything outside that scope is shown as a separate line before you accept.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Aston
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Aston need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Do you cover Aston?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Aston and the rest of West Midlands, including B6 and nearby Birmingham.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Aston?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
