In workplaces and the common parts of blocks of flats, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes the responsible person keep fire doors in working order, and in residential buildings with a storey above 11 metres regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 adds quarterly checks of communal doors and annual checks of flat entrance doors.
Cost of composite fire doors in Hertfordshire
Guide prices for composite fire doors in Hoddesdon run from about £1,200 to £2,200 per door, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.

Your questions answered
Can you fit just one door in Hoddesdon?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Hertfordshire.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Hoddesdon?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Hoddesdon?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Can I have a letterplate?
Only a fire-rated letterplate tested with that door.
