Commercial fire doors in York: how we work
We fit commercial and office fire doorsets in York and the rest of North Yorkshire. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
York is one of the main towns we cover in North Yorkshire; tell us your dates and we'll arrange a survey.
Fire door rules in York
Because York is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
What do commercial fire doors cost in York?
Budget around £850 to £1,500 per single doorset for commercial fire doors supplied and fitted in York, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.
