Regulations for timber fire doors in South Glamorgan
In Cardiff the specification follows Approved Document B as published for Wales, while day-to-day duties to keep fire doors working come from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The England-only door-check regulations of 2022 don't apply in Wales, but regular checks remain good practice and are expected by fire risk assessors.
Cost of timber fire doors in South Glamorgan
Guide prices for timber fire doors in Cardiff run from about £750 to £1,600 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Timber fire doors in Cardiff: questions
Can you work around tenants or staff in Cardiff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do you cover Cardiff?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit timber fire doors throughout Cardiff and the rest of South Glamorgan, including CF10 and nearby Penarth.
Is the survey in Cardiff free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Can a timber fire door be trimmed on site?
Only within the limits the manufacturer's evidence allows, usually a few millimetres. We prefer made-to-measure doorsets so no trimming is needed.
