Our Risca supply and fit service
We fit doors onto protected stairs and escape routes in Risca and the rest of Gwent. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
Where possible we combine Risca surveys with other visits in Gwent, such as Newport and Cwmbran, which helps keep survey dates flexible.
Regulations for stairwell fire doors in Gwent
In Risca the specification follows Approved Document B as published for Wales, while day-to-day duties to keep fire doors working come from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The England-only door-check regulations of 2022 don't apply in Wales, but regular checks remain good practice and are expected by fire risk assessors.
Cost of stairwell fire doors in Gwent
Guide prices for stairwell fire doors in Risca run from about £850 to £1,400 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
Buildings that need stairwell fire doors
Lift lobbies and basement and plant stairs are among the most common settings for stairwell fire doors, in Risca as elsewhere.
Gwent centres on Newport's city centre and council estates, with Cwmbran, Pontypool and the valleys towns adding schools and industry.
