Which rules apply in Livingston?

Scotland has its own system: new and replacement fire doors in Livingston are designed to the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and the Technical Handbooks (Section 2, Fire). For non-domestic premises, the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 place duties on whoever controls the building.

What do security fire doors cost in Livingston?

Our guide for security fire doors is £1,600–£3,500 per single doorset fitted, ex VAT. Quotes for Livingston are fixed once we've measured, and include removing and disposing of old doors where they're being replaced.

The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Questions about security fire doors in Livingston

Can you work around tenants or staff in Livingston?

Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.

Is the survey in Livingston free?

Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.

Do you remove the old doors?

Yes. Removal and disposal of the old door and frame is included when we replace a doorset in Livingston.

Can any fire door be made secure?

Adding security hardware to a fire door without evidence can void its fire rating. Choose a doorset certified for both.
