Fire door rules in Aberdeen

Scotland has its own system: new and replacement fire doors in Aberdeen are designed to the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and the Technical Handbooks (Section 2, Fire). For non-domestic premises, the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 place duties on whoever controls the building.

What do security fire doors cost in Aberdeen?

Expect roughly £1,600–£3,500 per single doorset for security fire doors, fitted, ex VAT. Your Aberdeen quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.

Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Your questions answered

How quickly can you survey in Aberdeen?

We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Aberdeen visits with other work in Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.

Which rules do security fire doors in Aberdeen need to meet?

They are specified to the Scottish Building Standards Technical Handbooks and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.

Is the survey in Aberdeen free?

Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.

Can any fire door be made secure?

Adding security hardware to a fire door without evidence can void its fire rating. Choose a doorset certified for both.
