Getting fire rated glazed screens fitted in Sunderland
Need fire rated glazed screens in Sunderland? We supply and fit complete certified doorsets across Tyne and Wear, starting with a free measure survey in and around SR1. Every quote lists each door, its rating and the manufacturer's certificate reference, so you know exactly what is going in before anything is ordered.
Whether your building is in central Sunderland or on its edges towards Seaham, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
What the law says in Sunderland
Fire doors in Sunderland sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Cost of fire rated glazed screens in Tyne and Wear
Expect roughly £1,400–£4,500 per screen for fire rated glazed screens, fitted, ex VAT. Your Sunderland quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Your questions answered
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Sunderland?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Sunderland?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Is the survey in Sunderland free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
