What the law says in Corby
Fire doors in Corby sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.

Fire rated glazed screens in Corby: questions
Which rules do fire rated glazed screens in Corby need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Is the survey in Corby free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
Do you work for landlords and managing agents in Corby?
Yes. We can schedule doors flat by flat, send quotes per property and invoice the managing agent or freeholder.
Does a fanlight above a fire door need to be fire-rated?
Yes, if it is part of the fire-resisting wall or door assembly. Ordinary glass above a fire door defeats the door.
