Fire door rules in Garston
In Garston, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Garston?
Our guide for fire rated glazed screens is £1,400–£4,500 per screen fitted, ex VAT. Quotes for Garston are fixed once we've measured, and include removing and disposing of old doors where they're being replaced.
We show each door's price separately, so if budget is tight you can phase the work and start with the doors your fire risk assessment prioritises.

Your questions answered
Can you work around tenants or staff in Garston?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Do you cover Garston?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens throughout Garston and the rest of Merseyside, including L19 and nearby Speke.
What does a Garston quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Steel or timber screens?
Both are available. Timber matches timber doorsets; steel suits slim sightlines and higher ratings.
