What the law says in Dorset
In Dorset, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
What do fire rated glazed screens cost in Dorset?
Guide prices for fire rated glazed screens in Dorset run from about £1,400 to £4,500 per screen, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Questions about fire rated glazed screens in Dorset
Can you work around tenants or staff?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Do you cover the whole of Dorset?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit fire rated glazed screens across Dorset, including Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth.
Steel or timber screens?
Both are available. Timber matches timber doorsets; steel suits slim sightlines and higher ratings.
