What the law says in Leighton Buzzard
Because Leighton Buzzard is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
What do FD60 fire doors cost in Leighton Buzzard?
Guide prices for FD60 fire doors in Leighton Buzzard run from about £1,050 to £1,650 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Common questions in Bedfordshire
What does a Leighton Buzzard quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Which rules do FD60 fire doors in Leighton Buzzard need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Do you cover Leighton Buzzard?
Yes. We survey, supply and fit FD60 fire doors throughout Leighton Buzzard and the rest of Bedfordshire, including LU7 and nearby Dunstable.
Can I use an FD60 door where FD30 is required?
Yes — a higher rating meets a lower requirement — but it is heavier and dearer, so we only recommend it where the location calls for it or you want a margin.
