What the law says in Chesham
In Chesham, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.

Questions about FD30S fire doors in Chesham
How quickly can you survey in Chesham?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Chesham visits with other work in Buckinghamshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Can you fit just one door in Chesham?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Buckinghamshire.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Chesham?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Is a threshold seal needed?
It depends on the doorset's test evidence. Some FD30S doorsets need a drop-down or threshold seal; others control smoke with a set threshold gap.
