What the law says in Kendal
In Kendal, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Cumbria has hotels and guest houses across the Lake District alongside town-centre flats and industrial sites in Carlisle and the west coast towns.

Questions about fire doors in Kendal
What does a Kendal quote include?
Survey, certified doorset, ironmongery, installation, removal of old doors and a handover pack. VAT is added at the standard rate.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Kendal?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Which rules do fire doors in Kendal need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Is the survey in Kendal free?
Yes. We measure and schedule your doors at no cost and send a fixed, itemised quote.
