Acoustic fire doors in Kirkcaldy

Acoustic fire doors in Kirkcaldy: how we work

We fit acoustic fire doorsets in Kirkcaldy and the rest of Fife. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.

Whether your building is in central Kirkcaldy or on its edges towards Glenrothes, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.

Which rules apply in Kirkcaldy?

Fire doors in Kirkcaldy follow Scottish building standards for new work, with the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 covering duties in workplaces and other non-domestic premises. Shared residential buildings may also be covered by licensing conditions, for example for HMOs.

What do acoustic fire doors cost in Kirkcaldy?

Guide prices for acoustic fire doors in Kirkcaldy run from about £1,100 to £2,000 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.

Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.

Your questions answered

Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Kirkcaldy?

Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.

Can you work around tenants or staff in Kirkcaldy?

Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.

Do you cover Kirkcaldy?

Yes. We survey, supply and fit acoustic fire doors throughout Kirkcaldy and the rest of Fife, including KY2 and nearby Glenrothes.

What Rw rating do I need?

Offices typically use 30–35dB for meeting rooms; confidential rooms and studios may need 40dB or more.
