Certified timber fire doors for Ely
Looking for timber fire doors in Ely? Our supply and fit service covers CB6 and the surrounding area, including Newmarket and March. We quote complete doorsets — leaf, frame, seals, hinges and closer — because that is what the fire certification actually covers.
Where possible we combine Ely surveys with other visits in Cambridgeshire, such as Newmarket and March, which helps keep survey dates flexible.
What the law says in Ely
Because Ely is in England, the starting point is Approved Document B for the specification and the Fire Safety Order 2005 for ongoing duties. Blocks with a storey above 11 metres also fall under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: communal fire doors checked at least every three months, flat front doors at least every year.
Cost of timber fire doors in Cambridgeshire
Budget around £750 to £1,600 per single doorset for timber fire doors supplied and fitted in Ely, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Each quote covers the certified doorset, standard ironmongery, fitting, removal of the old door and a handover record; anything outside that scope is shown as a separate line before you accept.
Where timber fire doors are needed

Questions about timber fire doors in Ely
How quickly can you survey in Ely?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Ely visits with other work in Cambridgeshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Ely?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Ely?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Are timber doors as good as steel?
For FD30 and FD60 in most buildings, yes. Steel suits plant areas, high security and longer ratings.
