Fire rated glazed screens in Ely: how we work
We fit fire-rated glazed screens and fanlights in Ely and the rest of Cambridgeshire. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
We cover CB6 and the surrounding area, including Newmarket. Tell us your postcode and preferred dates and we'll confirm a survey slot.
What the law says in Ely
In Ely, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Fire rated glazed screens prices in Ely
Our guide price for fire rated glazed screens in Ely is £1,400 to £4,500 per screen including fitting, ex VAT. Non-standard sizes, veneers, vision panels and access control push towards the top of the range.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.

Your questions answered
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Ely?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Ely?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can you fit just one door in Ely?
Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Cambridgeshire.
Can screens be very large?
Size limits depend on the screen system's evidence. Larger screens may need intermediate mullions or transoms.
