Stairwell fire doors in Peterborough: how we work
We fit doors onto protected stairs and escape routes in Peterborough and the rest of Cambridgeshire. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
Surveys in Peterborough are booked around your access needs, and we cover the wider Cambridgeshire area too.
What the law says in Peterborough
In Peterborough, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Guide prices in Peterborough
Guide prices for stairwell fire doors in Peterborough run from about £850 to £1,400 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.
Made-to-measure sizes for older openings, vision panels and upgraded hardware are the usual reasons a door sits towards the top of the range.
