Stairwell fire doors in Bedford: how we work
Looking for stairwell fire doors in Bedford? Our supply and fit service covers MK40 and the surrounding area, including Ampthill and St Neots. We quote complete doorsets — leaf, frame, seals, hinges and closer — because that is what the fire certification actually covers.
Whether your building is in central Bedford or on its edges towards Ampthill, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
Fire door rules in Bedford
In Bedford, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Stairwell fire doors prices in Bedford
Our guide for stairwell fire doors is £850–£1,400 per single doorset fitted, ex VAT. Quotes for Bedford are fixed once we've measured, and include removing and disposing of old doors where they're being replaced.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
