Our Ayr supply and fit service
Looking for stairwell fire doors in Ayr? Our supply and fit service covers KA8 and the surrounding area, including Irvine and Kilmarnock. We quote complete doorsets — leaf, frame, seals, hinges and closer — because that is what the fire certification actually covers.
Where possible we combine Ayr surveys with other visits in Ayrshire, such as Irvine and Kilmarnock, which helps keep survey dates flexible.
What the law says in Ayr
In Ayr the building standards come from the Scottish Technical Handbooks rather than Approved Document B, and existing non-domestic premises fall under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. We specify doorsets against the Scottish requirements and your fire risk assessment.
What do stairwell fire doors cost in Ayr?
Expect roughly £850–£1,400 per single doorset for stairwell fire doors, fitted, ex VAT. Your Ayr quote is fixed after survey and itemised door by door.
We show each door's price separately, so if budget is tight you can phase the work and start with the doors your fire risk assessment prioritises.
Typical uses in Ayr

Your questions answered
How quickly can you survey in Ayr?
We arrange surveys around your access needs and, where possible, combine Ayr visits with other work in Ayrshire. Tell us your preferred dates when you enquire.
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Ayr?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Ayr?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can stair doors have locks?
Only escape hardware that allows instant exit without a key in the direction of escape.
