Regulations for security fire doors in Greater London

Fire doors in Woodford Green sit under English rules: Approved Document B sets what goes in, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers keeping doors effective in non-domestic premises and shared parts of residential buildings, and the 2022 regulations require regular door checks in residential buildings taller than 11 metres. Higher-risk buildings — 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes — also come under the Building Safety Act 2022.

What do security fire doors cost in Woodford Green?

Guide prices for security fire doors in Woodford Green run from about £1,600 to £3,500 per single doorset, supplied and fitted, ex VAT. Size, glazing, finish and ironmongery move the price, and the survey quote is fixed.

Central and inner London work can cost a little more where parking, loading restrictions or out-of-hours access apply; we show any access costs as a separate line.

Each quote covers the certified doorset, standard ironmongery, fitting, removal of the old door and a handover record; anything outside that scope is shown as a separate line before you accept.

Security fire doors in Woodford Green: questions

Can you work around tenants or staff in Woodford Green?

Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.

Which rules do security fire doors in Woodford Green need to meet?

They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.

Can you fit just one door in Woodford Green?

Yes — from a single door to a full building. Where possible, small jobs are scheduled alongside other visits in Greater London.

Does my insurer need a specific rating?

Often for commercial premises. Tell us the grade and we'll propose a doorset certified to it.
