Our Woodford Green supply and fit service
We fit fire door closers, hinges and hold-open devices in Woodford Green and the rest of Greater London. The process is simple: we survey and measure each opening, propose a certified doorset for it, and give you a fixed price. Fitting is booked once the doorsets are made, usually with no door left out of action overnight.
Whether your building is in central Woodford Green or on its edges towards Chingford, survey and fitting dates are arranged around your access needs, with occupied buildings worked in planned phases.
What the law says in Woodford Green
In Woodford Green, as across England, Approved Document B governs new work and the Fire Safety Order 2005 governs existing premises. Note that Approved Document B is removing the BS 476 fire-resistance test references on 2 September 2029, so specifications are moving to EN classifications such as E30 Sa.
Guide prices in Woodford Green
Budget around £120 to £500 per item for fire door closers and ironmongery supplied and fitted in Woodford Green, excluding VAT. We price each opening separately so nothing is hidden in a lump sum.
Central and inner London work can cost a little more where parking, loading restrictions or out-of-hours access apply; we show any access costs as a separate line.
The biggest price drivers are leaf size, glazing, finish and ironmongery; upper floors without lifts and restricted parking can also affect fitting cost.
Where fire door closers and ironmongery are needed
Typical uses for fire door closers and ironmongery in Woodford Green include seal and signage replacement and busy corridors needing hold-open.
London has the UK's largest concentration of purpose-built flats and high-rise residential blocks, so flat entrance doors, communal corridor doors and regulation 10 checks drive much of the demand.

Your questions answered
Will I get certificates for the doors fitted in Woodford Green?
Every doorset is listed in your handover pack with the manufacturer's certificate reference, plus an installation record and photos.
Which rules do fire door closers and ironmongery in Woodford Green need to meet?
They are specified to Approved Document B (England) and your fire risk assessment or fire strategy. We confirm the rating of each door at survey.
Can you work around tenants or staff in Woodford Green?
Yes. We phase work in occupied buildings and keep escape routes available. Each door is planned to be removed and replaced the same day; if that isn't possible, the opening is made secure and we tell you in advance.
Can I use any hinge on a fire door?
No. Hinges should be CE/UKCA marked to BS EN 1935 and suitable for the door's weight and rating.
